Remember the Titans

It’s not giving anything away to say that, as far as any suspense over how Remember the Clichés will wind up, we’ve already seen this game. In its defense, the movie is based on a true story, recounting how, in 1971, the football-happy redneck town of Alexandria, Va., gets a double-whammy. Not only is the high school being forced to bus in black students, but the school’s beloved winning-season assistant coach (Will Patton) gets beat out for promotion by a black (Denzel Washington). After initial butting of heads, bonding (of both coaches and team) ensues. Then it’s up to the newly integrated team to re-educate their folks and fans before the big game.
