One man’s mandate…

One man’s mandate is millions’ misfortune?

Wanna get pissed? Really pissed? No, not as in drunk, though you may want to do that too after attending the west coast premiere, Tuesday at the Crest Theatre, of Uncounted: The New Math of American Elections. No, we’re talking pissed as in blood-boilingly infuriated. Well, Emmy-winner David Earnhardt‘s documentary should do the trick. In it you’ll hear from the guy who blew the whistle on Diebold’s dubious voting machines, the guy who wrote the vote-flipping code, and the guy who invented a paper-trail-accountable alternative—only to die mysteriously not long thereafter. Oh, and from several regular people who’ve experienced the peculiar privilege of knowing with total certainty that their presidential votes, in ‘04 and ‘06, didn’t count. And finally, there’s the guy who points out the maddeningly obvious: “We have a hell of a lot of work to do to safeguard our next election.” In other words, guess the computer hackers of the left had better get busy.

Presented by the Sacramento Film & Music Festival, screenings take place at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. January 15, each followed by a Q-and-A with the filmmaker and special guests.
