Mystery Spot

Berkeley playwright Steve Lyons’ nimble satire (with academic/feminist trimmings) focuses on Dingo (Nick Koehler), a horny hick from Oroville looking to score with girls by majoring in women’s studies at UC Santa Cruz. Dingo displays a book of Sylvia Plath’s poems—which he hasn’t read—as a lure. Soon, he’s consorting with the spirit of Plath’s herself (Bonnie Antonini). Intellectual references notwithstanding, this show’s ultimately a likable but rather conventional romantic comedy, with pop songs between scenes. F, Sa 8pm; Su 2pm. Through 4/10. $12-$20.
