Garage sales and thrift stores may be great places to pick up old Atari sets or vintage clothes that smell of moth balls, but it turns out they’re also treasure troves for hilarious and disturbing videos: sexual-harassment training tapes, home videos and an exercise video featuring a scantily-clad Angela Lansbury. Having a problem toilet training your cat? There just so happens to be a video to help you train your feline friend. Found Footage Festival hosts Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher—whose credits include The Colbert Report, Late Show With David Letterman and The Onion—scoured Dumpsters and warehouses to find the best of the worst videos in the country. They’ll be at the screening Friday, May 1, at Movies on a Big Screen to share their experiences and provide commentary on the obscure world of found footage.
