For its size, Sacramento has an impressive number of film festivals each year with themes ranging from food to horror. This weekend, stories that showcase the diverse perspectives of Asian and Pacific Islanders through film and new media will come to the California Museum during the Sacramento Asian Pacific Film Festival. In its fourth year, the festival delivers more than two dozen films across four show times under the theme “Beyond Resistance,” and will include panel discussions with local activists and talks with filmmakers. Through documentaries and fiction, the festival spotlights API artists and filmmakers while offering viewers a deeper understanding into these cultures. 1020 O Street, www.sapff.org.
