If you see a piñata at this Friday’s KnifeThruHead show, for goodness’ sake, do not break it open! Local grindcore band KnifeThruHead is best known for drunken antics and skimpy costumes (codpiece and tube socks, anyone?). When the band played at The Distillery last August, it gave a piñata to its enthusiastic fans. They cracked it open, only to be met with a dirty mess of shaving cream, breakfast cereal and the contents of several ashtrays. Needless to say, KnifeThruHead doesn’t get to play many gigs. If you’ve ever been curious about its act, make a point to see the band this Friday at 10 p.m. when it plays with Gift of Goats, the Little People and Praise Darklord (a David Houston tribute band?). Admission is $6 at The Distillery, located at 2107 L Street. Visit www.geocities.com/knifethruheadgrind for show details and dog T-shirts.
