Hardball

Rated 2.0 While I don’t belong to the He-Man Keanu Haters’ Club, I must admit that he is rather bad in this movie. He plays Conor, a gambling addict forced to coach Little League to kids in Chicago projects. While the film aspires to be a modern day Bad News Bears, a lack of time on the baseball field with the children is hurtful. The film instead opts to tell the harrowing tail of Conor’s money problems and display the overacting within Keanu that the predicament inspires. This is not a sports movie; it’s a sports gambling movie, and it’s a rather bad one.
