The Prophetz of Time and Space showcase will feature Jerry Goodman (Mahavishnu Orchestra alum); Sacramento’s Roger Smith (Tower of Power) playing acoustic piano; keyboard wizard Tadashi Namba (Hiroshima credits); Rocky Tatarelli, tenor saxophonist channeling Coltrane—it’s in his DNA; and Steve Boutte on drums. Rare special guests in the house, too (on the down low). The music has healing qualities and doesn’t fit radio’s typical music-category labeling; it flirts yet defies smooth-jazz territory and gives a contemporary nod to West Coast jazz fusion and world-music sensibilities.
