Second only to my sorrow at not being able to trick-or-treat myself anymore is my regret that hardly any kids come to my house. This sad state of affairs means that I can’t really justify buying much Halloween candy, and it also means that I don’t get to see very many kids in costumes. In a few short years, my daughter will be old enough to trick-or-treat, but meanwhile I will have to get a Halloween fix in any way I can. Halloween nostalgia and candy nostalgia are deeply entwined in my mind, so there is no better seasonal pursuit than browsing the virtual candy store at Hometown Favorites (www.hometownfavorites.com), where you can get suitable-for-Halloween old-school candies like bite-sized Bit-O-Honey, Sugar Daddy and snack-sized Big Hunk. Personally, I plan to place my order, carve a pumpkin and hope that just a few kids come to my house but leave plenty of candy for me.
