Eight Gigs: The Chris Robinson Brotherhood

Fri., Dec. 4, 9 p.m., Harlow’s Restaurant & Nightclub, $25-$28

At the beginning of this year, the Black Crowes officially broke up after what appears to be a pretty ugly dispute between guitarist Rich Robinson and older brother and frontman Chris Robinson. The latter has gone on to turn what was once an experimental side project, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood, into his main gig and the band is currently touring extensively, as it has from its inception in 2011. As one might expect, CRB doesn't sound terribly different from the Black Crowes; showgoers can expect to hear some familiar songs and even “Hard to Handle,” the Otis Redding cover. 2708 J Street, http://chrisrobinsonbrotherhood.com.
