Eight Gigs: Michael Ray

Fri., July 1, 8 p.m., Old Ironsides, $10

Dan Fowler

Last year, local blues maven Michael Ray recorded a gig at Old Ironsides. Now, he’s releasing an EP featuring five acoustic solo tracks from that night—fittingly, at Old Ironsides. Plan ahead and grab presale tickets, which come with a copy of the EP, aptly titled Live At Old I. Not a blues fan? Doesn’t matter. The multidimensional guitarist dabbles in lots of genres. Just look to the show’s openers: reggae band Honey B & the Cultivation and rapper Century Got Bars. Find Ray strumming at the Torch Club every Tuesday as well as hosting the Dive Bar open-mic on Wednesdays. 1901 10th Street, www.facebook.com/michaelray916.
