Eight Gigs: Fishbone

Sun., Nov. 13, 6:30 p.m., The Boardwalk, $18-$20

It’s nice to see Fishbone found an audience again. The 2010 documentary Everyday Sunshine showed the group at an embarrassingly low point. Despite losing some original members, though, Fishbone was still putting on killer, high-energy, genre-anarchic shows. Back in the ’80s, the group was easily one of the best bands to come out of LA’s diverse alt-rock-punk-funk-ska scene. That’s because Fishbone could play every single one of the styles better than groups that focused on just one. In 2016, Fishbone is still incredible. 9426 Greenback Lane in Orangevale, www.fishbone.net.
