Dream House

Rated 2.0

A New York book editor (Daniel Craig) moves with his wife (Rachel Weisz) and two small daughters to their “dream house” in Connecticut. But then they learn that a previous family was massacred there—the father murdered his own wife and two small daughters. Now someone seems to be lurking around the house. And what secret is being hidden by the neighbor across the street (Naomi Watts)? Written by David Loucka and tensely directed by Jim Sheridan, the movie might make a decent suspense thriller if you haven’t seen the preview trailer. But if you have, then you’ve already seen a major plot twist that happens halfway through—and knowing that, you’ll have time not only to figure out the ending but to pick apart all the plot holes. It’s not a bad movie, but it’s been undone by incredibly stupid marketing.
