Definitely, Maybe

Rated 3.0

A soon-to-be-divorced man (Ryan Reynolds) tells his little girl (Abigail Breslin) the story of his relationships with three different women (Elizabeth Banks, Isla Fisher, Rachel Weisz), changing the names so she won’t know which of them is her mother. Writer-director Adam Brooks has a knack for snappy sitcom dialogue and friendly Hollywood gloss to go with his offbeat concept. He also has a nice hand with his attractive cast and a way of making you think his story is going to be routinely predictable, then salting it with little surprises along the way. The movie is an amusing little bauble, though it’s hard to ignore the echoes of When Harry Met Sally, or the fact that the actors age not a day in 16 years—or the uneasy creepiness of a grown man recounting his sex life to his 9-year-old daughter.
