Biz Markie and local fashion unite

Does Sacramento have a style? That’s an unequivocal “yes” from Sister Brother, a new consulting business that looks to promote the local fashion economy. To launch their enterprise, owners and siblings Mary Gonsalves Kinney and Michael Gonsalves are putting together a swank party called Fashion Gives Back. Taking place at Lounge on 20 on Friday, the event is hosted by designer Christopher Collins and features styles by local boutiques Krazy Mary’s, Madam Butterfly and S. Benson & Co. To make it hotter, Biz Markie will perform a live deejay set. Proceeds will be presented by Mayor Kevin Johnson to the Capital City AIDS Fund.
