Here’s the latest from the “what goes around comes around” files. As loyal SN&R readers know, the band formerly known as the Veronicas was legally forced to change its name to Beyond Veronica when two Australian twin vocalists with a Warner Brothers record deal wanted to use the same moniker. Now, on the brink of releasing their first single, “4Ever,” the WB’s Veronicas were hit with a lawsuit from Archie Comics Publications for a trademark violation. Archie Comics is planning a Betty and Veronica movie and doesn’t feel the twins’ music—which the girls describe as “a cross between Avril Lavigne and the No Doubt kind of vibe”—represents the spirit of the comic character. Meanwhile, Beyond Veronica continues to entertain drama-free. The band graces San Francisco’s Cherry Bar this Saturday night, and next Friday finds the band at Davis’ G Street Pub.
