Yes. It is real. It’s a bacon-bikini contest, perhaps the first ever. Though I wouldn’t condone doing this for fun, it’s not all just grease and girls. It’s for charity. Proceeds benefit the Jordan Lightfoot Foundation for Juvenile Diabetes, actually. What better way to raise awareness of juvenile diabetes than watching women wearing homemade bikinis made out of an artery-clogging slice of pork? Yes, it’s fattening, but since bacon is also for eating, you can text “bacon” to 41411 to receive a free bacon appetizer. Contestants must sign up at www.baconbikinibabe.com before 7 p.m. on Friday for a chance to win up to $1,000. Besides, didn’t you hear? Fat is the new skinny.

Friday, October 22, 9 p.m.; $10. The Station, 1100 Orlando Avenue in Roseville; www.baconbikinibabe.com.
