Around The World in 80 Days
The B Street Theatre revives its very popular 2004 production, adapted from the Jules Verne classic, with the same performers: Mike Stevenson, Amy Resnick, David Pierini, Greg Alexander and Elisabeth Nunziato, plus ingenious live sound effects by Willie Busfield. In the 2004 production, SN&R’s Patti Roberts wrote that this breathless trip by the precise and always honorable Phileas Fogg is “done in two hours without props, scenery or large cast. Five actors portray more than 30 characters,” with most characters presented as “part farce, part slapstick, part vaudeville and entirely entertaining.”
B Street Theatre, 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays, 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays, 8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 5 and 9 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays; $22-$30. 2711 B Street, (916) 443-5300, www.bstreettheatre.org. Through June 1.
