Napoleon Dynamite

Rated 3.0 While this one is a little tedious at times, Jon Heder’s performance as the title character is a beautiful thing. Whether he’s feeding his grandmother’s llama, practicing his dance moves or playing tetherball, his demeanor never changes. He’s perhaps the most lethargic character ever to hit movie screens. Writer-director Jared Hess has concocted the ultimate geek movie, as Napoleon and his pal Pedro (a hilariously deadpan Efren Ramirez) suffer through high school and attempt to infiltrate the student government. There’s an assortment of great sight gags (one involving a cow and some school kids is priceless), and when Napoleon dances, the screen is on fire. Make sure to stay through the credits for recently added bonus footage.
