Clearing the debris

Nov. 1 marked the start of Carson Ranger District’s preventative measures against forest fires. The CRD began mowing and mulching brush and small trees in the Job’s Peak Project area off of Foothill Road in Douglas County, south of Kingsbury Grade to the California state line, to reduce forest debris that could become a fire hazard. The Fay-Luther and Jobs Peak Ranch trails may be closed for short periods of time to ensure public safety. The project is expected to last until January 2012, weather permitting.
