Clean movies

A new short film, Beyond Coal in Nevada, premiered in Reno last week. It can now be viewed at www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lw3SLc_7-JM.

Meanwhile, a movie on climate change opened worldwide last week, including a showing at the Summit Sierra theater in Reno, but is being mostly ignored in the mainstream print press in the United States.

The Age of Stupid, a drama starring Pete Postlethwaite as the last person on a ruined 2055 Earth, is being described as using a new template for motion picture distribution that may be adopted by other filmmakers. In some nations, its premiere was attended by presidents or U.N. officials, but in the United States news of its opening was mostly suppressed. The Google news page found only two mainstream print reports, in the St. Louis Post Dispatch and the New York Times. All other U.S. reports on it were found at online sites like Inhabitat and Gothamist. The conservative press strikes again.
