Who’s that dog?

Chico animal control officers are asking for help in their search for a dog that bit a 20-year-old woman early in the morning on June 22. They want to check it for rabies.

She was in the area of the picnic tables at Oak Grove, in Bidwell Park’s One-Mile Recreation Area when she was bitten by a male, Queensland-heeler type dog belonging to a man named “Mike.” Apparently the dog was on a rope, and when she got too close, it bit her.

Mike is described as in his 20s or 30s, more than 6 feet tall, with long (past shoulder length) reddish hair and unshaven facial hair. There was a group of people with the man when the woman was bitten.

Anyone having information about the whereabouts of the dog or Mike is asked to call Chico Animal Control at 897-4960 or 897-4900.
