Turn sustainable dreams into reality

Brita contest will give five college students the cash to realize their environmental dreams

Attention, Butte College and Chico State students: Have an idea that helps the environment, but no cash to make it happen? Take the College FilterForGood Eco-Challenge.

Sponsored by Brita, the national challenge invites college students (18 an older) to submit proposals of creative eco-friendly projects or programs. Five $10,000 grants will be awarded to five winning entries, allowing students to turn their environmental passion into action. (The contest is part of Brita’s FilterForGood campaign, which encourages the reduction of bottled-water waste.)

Entries will be judged based on creativity, environmental benefit, educational impact and best use of time and budget. When dreaming up your idea, concentrate on something that is action-based and will create tangible results. The deadline to enter is Nov. 14.
