Taking brass knuckles to the brass

Suspect charged in road rage incident after attempting to assault police where they work

A road rage incident that led to the parking lot of the Chico Police Department ended in a man allegedly wielding brass knuckles against another man before trying to run down officers who responded to the incident.

Police identified the suspect as 35-year-old Brian Silva and arrested him shortly after the incident. The victim said he was driving in south Chico when Silva began yelling at him from his car. When Silva got out of his vehicle, the victim drove off, stopping at the police station. Silva allegedly followed, again exited his vehicle, this time with brass knuckles.

When officers responded from inside the station, Silva allegedly got back in his car and drove toward them. Nobody was hurt. Silva was later arrested when police located his vehicle on Walnut Street near Dayton Road.
