Special Olympics gets anonymous $10,000 infusion
Earlier this month, a local nonprofit got an unexpected windfall by way of an anonymous donation. Special Olympics of Northern California & Nevada, which provides athletic opportunities for kids and adults with disabilities, was the recipient of a $10,000 donation, made through the North Valley Community Foundation.
“We have never had a donation this large,” Lori Baker, a spokeswoman for the group, said in a press release. “We have been trying to make everything work and have even donated our own money to help the athletes have what they need, and this just hits my heart.”
