Majority of Americans favor federal agencies

A majority of Americans hold favorable opinions for seven out of eight federal government agencies, according to a recent survey by the Pew Research Center. Those seven agencies are led in popularity by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, with 70 percent in favor, followed by NASA (68 percent), Department of Defense (65 percent), the Environmental Protection Agency (59 percent), the CIA (54 percent), the Veterans Administration (52 percent) and the National Security Agency (51 percent). Not surprisingly, with tax season approaching, the IRS (45 percent) is not viewed in a favorable light by most Americans.
