By Memorial Day weekend, the sun is (hopefully) out for good in Northern California, and the season of music festivals is in full swing. After a down year financially, Humboldt County’s Reggae on the River has yet to announce a 2018 festival, but news of High Times magazine partnering with the organizers brings hope for the future. Locally, Chico Performances has announced the cancellation of the annual Chico World Music Festival this year, citing the loss of city funding for the free event. That said, here’s the CN&R’s annual guide to the Nor Cal spring/summer festivals:

Bottlerock: May 25-27, Napa Valley. Featuring: Bruno Mars, The Killers, Trombone Shorty, Muse, Snoop Dogg, E-40, Tank and the Bangas, more. Sold out—tickets available on secondary market only (Stubhub, Lyte etc.).

Strawberry Music Festival: May 24-28, Nevada County Fairgrounds, Grass Valley. Featuring: Taj Mahal, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Bruce Cockburn, Hannah Jane Kile. Tickets: $45-$85 (single day) to $205-$270 (two- to four-day passes, camping included).

Huichica Music Festival: June 8-9, Gundlach Bundschu Winery, Sonoma. Featuring: King Tuff, Jonathan Richman, Springtime Carnivore, Sonny Smith, more. Tickets: $40-$65 (single day) to $95 (two days).

Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival: June 14-17, Nevada County Fairgrounds, Grass Valley. Featuring: Del McCoury Band, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, more. Tickets: $40-$65 (one day, no camping) to $150-$175 (three- and four-day passes, camping included). fathers

Country Summer: June 15-17, Sonoma County Fairgrounds, Santa Rosa. Florida Georgia Line, Little Big Town, Toby Keith, more. $89-$139 (single day) to $249-$399 (three days); camping extra.

Sierra Nevada World Music Festival: June 22-24, Mendocino County Fairgrounds, Boonville. Featuring: Steel Pulse, Beres Hammond, Tarrus Riley, Teddy Afro, more. Tickets: $70-$85 (single day) to $195 (three days). Camping: $90 per car.

Vans Warped Tour: June 23, Shoreline Amphitheatre, Mountain View. The final tour. Featuring: The Used, Real Big Fish, Senses Fail, Every Time I Die, Hail the Sun, more. Tickets: $45.

Kate Wolf Music Festival: June 28-July 1, Black Oak Ranch, Laytonville. Featuring: Ani DiFranco, Indigo Girls, Los Lobos, Keb’ Mo’, more. Tickets: $85-$125 (single day) to $245-$345 (two- to four-day passes, with camping). Additional discounts if purchased by May 31. Parking extra.

Sacred Movement: June 29-July 1, Lake Concow Campground, Concow. Featuring: Rocker T, Mystic Roots, more. Tickets: $30 (single day) to $75 (three days).

Burger Boogaloo: June 30-July 1, Mosswood Park, Oakland. Featuring: DEVO, John Waters, The Damned, Mudhoney, Dwarves, Gris Gris, more. Tickets: $99-$125 (single day) and $169 (two day).

High Sierra Music Festival: July 5-8, Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds, Quincy. Featuring: Sturgill Simpson, String Cheese Incident, Antibalas, Lettuce, more. Tickets: $99.50 (single day) to $205-$305.75 (for two- to four-day passes, with camping). Parking and “late night” tickets extra.

California WorldFest: July 12-18, Nevada County Fairgrounds, Grass Valley. Featuring: Galactic, Samantha Fish, Anoushka Shankar, Fula Brothers, MaMuse, more. Tickets: From $40-65 (one day) to $115-$170 (two to four days). Camping extra.

Guitarfish Music Festival: July 26-29, Cisco Grove Campground & RV Park, Cisco Grove. Featuring: Con Brio, Pimps of Joytime, Orgone, Dead Winter Carpenters, more. Tickets: $50-$90 (single day) to $180 (four days). Camping included, parking extra.
