Enloe opens playground

New space for kids part of broader plan to open a park

Enloe Medical Center opened a small playground across the street from the hospital’s Esplanade campus on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

The equipment for the playground was donated by the Chico Rotary Club, according to an Enloe Medical Center press release. The playground is the first step of a broader plan to build a park in the space between Magnolia and Arcadian avenues, and West Fifth and West Sixth streets, the full construction of which will begin sometime in 2016.

The park will be the final part of the Enloe Century Project expansion, which includes a parking structure, the new 191,000-square-foot patient tower (opened in 2012), and the emergency-department expansion currently underway.
