Landfill to charge extra for uncovered loads
Beginning Sunday (Feb. 1), if you take a load to the Neal Road Landfill and it isn’t covered, it’s going to cost you an additional $8.11 at the scale.
The goal is to keep the roadways leading to the landfill free from litter and debris. “The load must be covered in a manner to prevent dropping, blowing or spilling,” said Bill Mannel, county solid waste manager, in the written announcement.
No word on how the county came up with that $8.11 figure.
