Cooley & more play benefit at the Senator

Legends of Chico Benefit, featuring: Steve Cooley & the Blues Movers • George Souza & the Funk Brothers, Brutilicus Maximus, Spark ‘n Cinder, The Senator Theater • Saturday, Aug. 25 • 6:30 p.m.

Steve Cooley (pictured) gathers together his old band The Blues Movers for this benefit to help ease medical expenses for Adrian Baxmeyer, son of Billy Baxmeyer, who was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident. Also appearing on the bill are more Chico music legends: George Sousa and the Funk Brothers, Brutilicus Maximus and Spark ‘n Cinder. At 6:30 p.m., a silent auction occurs for a plethora of goods and services, including Guzzetti Catering, Blue Room membership, clothing, jewelry, and the music of The Phil O’Neil Trio, Holly Taylor & Eric Peters, The Chris Schadt Band, and The Pub Scouts! Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; music starts at 7:30 p.m. All ages show. Admission: $10, general; $6, with student ID; $3, 12 and under. Donations may also be mailed.
