Welcome to spring and summer in Chico. Sure, it can get pretty hot around these parts, but there are plenty of cool things to do. From the air-conditioned art galleries and museums to the chilly watering holes at Bidwell Park and the Sacramento River, Chico offers a host of indoor and outdoor activities to beat the heat or relish in it.

If this is your first visit to our little ol’ town, you have a world of natural beauty, entertainment and other great surprises headed your way. If you’ve just moved to Chico, have you figured out what the rest of us already know? We don’t want to brag, but in recent years our fair city has gotten a lot of attention, including being named one of the top 10 small art towns in the country.

But check things out for yourself; explore. To give you some direction, the Chico News & Review, Chico’s award-winning weekly newspaper, has prepared this handy Visitor Guide. It includes information for those looking to put down roots and those seeking adventure.

Use it to discover what makes Chico so special.
