Call to arms

About 120 people turned up on Saturday morning to help circulate petitions for a referendum on the county’s redistricting Plan 5. By the end of the day, organizers had upward of 2,500 signatures—a quarter of the 10,000 they hope to get by Sept. 26. Bob Mulholland, shown here with his wife, Supervisor Jane Dolan, called the total "a very good start." Mulholland and other referendum organizers plan to meet every Saturday morning at Guzzetti’s Catering until Sept. 26 to gather signatures door to door. Call 879-9491 for more information.
