North State narcotics agencies score drugs, cash

The Butte County Interagency Narcotics Task Force this week announced the arrests of eight people and the seizure of drugs and other contraband from sites across California in the latest result of a cooperative investigation with the federal Drug Enforcement Agency and other North State narcotics agencies dating back to October 2013.

The recent arrests were made in Yuba City, Live Oak and Modesto, and netted $98,000, 20.5 pounds of methamphetamine and 2.5 pounds of cocaine, according to a press release. They are the result of search warrants served last week in Butte, Sutter, Stanislaus and Sacramento counties.

According to the authorities, the extended investigation resulted in 19 other arrests, all of Butte County residents, and confiscation of 25 firearms, $230,000 and about 45 pounds of meth and 6 ounces of heroin.
