Evans used a Canon Powershot digital for this classic-looking photo. “It was just a really lazy August day out there on the boat, and I thought it would make a great photo,” she said.
Second Place (Wins $30 gift certificate to Chico Paper Co.)<p>“Crowley Peeking Through Fence” <br>by Richard Judkins, 53, Orland<br>A hobby photographer who sometimes freelances for the Sacramento Valley Mirror, Judkins took this shot while he was waiting to take his son to school. “Trying to get her to stay still was the hardest part,” he said.
Third Place (Wins 4 movie passes to Tinseltown)<p> “Happy Girl” <br>by Jamie Monroe, 38, Chico<br>Monroe took this shot of a family friend at a “Halloween princess party.” The subject, captured by a Canon Digital Rebel, was celebrating her birthday and was ecstatic over a present she had just received.
Fourth Place (Wins 2 movie passes to Tinseltown)<p>“Salamanders” <br>by Lisa Borges, 19, Chico<br>“This picture was taken January of this year at the Turtle Bay Exploration Park in Redding, California. I used my Sony Cyber-shot digital camera and took a few shots. The result was this picture, which I like because it was so unarranged and really shows how quirky the little guys are.”
