Letters to the Future
project was created with a simple but powerful goal: to ask some of the most insightful and creative minds
of our time to write letters to future generations, predicting the outcome of the critical U.N. climate
talks in 2015. We invited authors, artists, scientists, and other thought leaders to share their
perspectives on this crucial issue. These letters were published in 40 alternative weeklies and other media
outlets across the country, reaching a combined audience of over four million print readers and 11 million
online visitors. But we didn't stop there. We also sent these letters directly to hundreds of targeted
delegates and citizens ahead of the U.N. climate talks in Paris. We believe that by harnessing the power of
journalism and creativity, we can help shape a better future for all.
