Tom Goes to the Mayor: The Complete Series

A young entrepreneur moves to the fictional town of Jefferton and tries to impress its mayor. This is animation at its most primitive, with cast regulars and guest stars as blue-and-white cutouts against color backgrounds. The people are a series of stills rather than continuously flowing animation. This looks cheap—something I believe the creators intended. Guest stars include Tenacious D, Michael Ian Black, Jeff Goldblum, and Mr. Show alumni David Cross. The voice and likeness of the other half of Mr. Show, Bob Odenkirk, shows up for many characters. Fans of Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Mr. Show should find this to their liking. Those fans also should be sure to catch Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! on Cartoon Network. It’s done by the same creative team.
