The future is renewable
According to a new report, the renewable energy and energy efficiency (RE&EE) industries could generate 37 million jobs and $4,294 billion in U.S. revenue by 2030.
The ASES Green Collar Jobs report was conducted by nonprofit American Solar Energy Society and economic research firm Management Information Services.
The 37 million jobs was on the high end of their analysis. In a “business as usual,” low end scenario, the report forecasts 16 million green collar jobs and $1,966 billion in U.S. revenue by 2030.
As of 2007, the RE&EE industries represented more than 9 million jobs and $1,045 billion in U.S, revenue, with solar thermal, photovoltaic, biodiesel and ethanol sectors each getting over 25 percent annual revenue growth. Read the full report at www.ases.org/greenjobs.
