Katy Perry, Suki Waterhouse and Susan Sarandon were among celebrities attending the Black Rock Desert festival this year. (Sarandon brought Timothy Leary’s ashes with her.) Burning Man founder Larry Harvey made news with his quote in the London Guardian: “I don’t think black folks like to camp as much as white folks”—as though what they do at Burning Man is camping.
