Burning Man renewal

Black Rock City has submitted a proposal to renew its permit to hold Burning Man from 2011-2015, and the Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comment on it. The festival has been permitted by the BLM since 1992 and hosts about 50,000 people on roughly 4,400 acres of public land.

The BLM is hosting an open house meeting about the permit renewal on Thursday, Dec. 9 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Hyatt Place Reno-Tahoe, 1790 E. Plumb Lane, in Reno. Public comments will be accepted until Dec. 13. Submit them to Cory Roegner, Attn: Burning Man Permit Renewal, BLM Black Rock Field Office, 5100 East Winnemucca Blvd., Winnemucca, NV 89445-2921, or by email to <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">{ document.write(String.fromCharCode(60,97,32,104,114,101,102,61,34,109,97,105,108,116,111,58,119,102,111,119,101,98,64,110,118,46,98,108,109,46,103,111,118,34,62,119,102,111,119,101,98,64,110,118,46,98,108,109,46,103,111,118,60,47,97,62)) } </script>.
