All about boobs

We’re talking breasts in this year’s women’s health guide and how to keep ’em happy and healthy. Boobs are a big deal in our society. We’re constantly covering them, gawking at them, or raising awareness to try and save them. For a lot of young girls, breasts are ridiculously important for confidence and social standing. I remember getting mocked for being flat back in elementary and middle school when all my other friends started having bra straps peek out from under their shirts. Things changed later on when the label on my bra started to read a little further down the alphabet than my friends, but I still remember feeling totally defeated and angry at my own body when I was a little girl. It seems so totally ridiculous now, but it was super important to us then—and it still is today. One thing is for sure, we love our breasts in this society, which is probably a big part of why breast cancer is one of the most highly publicized diseases there is.

Speaking of breast cancer, Anneliese Hucal wrote a piece detailing how you can partner up to check your breasts for changes and lumps. And I spoke with a local gynecologist all about breasts and how to keep them healthy. There’s also a story that talks all about breastfeeding and how it can help both you and your baby’s health. And because bras are so close to our hearts, we’ve included a piece about getting fitted for one and finding your correct size. Hope you enjoy.
