Sinead O’Connor

Theology

I’m glad Sinead has found Jesus. I’m sure it’s made her days brighter. Her love for Jesus was evident on her last great album, Faith and Courage, which still felt like a pop/rock record. Now, with this two-disc set of mostly self-penned, Bible-infused songs, she has actually delivered her very worst album. Not a good song in the lot and, making things worse, you get two versions of every bad song. One disc contains studio versions of tuneless dreck, while the other features acoustic versions of the same tracks. Deadly bad. Sinead, I thank God for blessing you with some of the greatest vocal chords ever bestowed upon a human being. But while the Holy Spirit has fueled many a soulful gospel singer with boundless energy, it has made you boring as all hell.
