It’s hard to deny. Birds are awesome: hollow bones, the ability to fly and, of course, they’re beautiful, too. The Far Western Anthropological Research Group has sponsored a showing of birdish artwork at the Pence Gallery. Birds of a Feather includes work by Mitra Fabian, Gerald Heffernon, Malia Landis, Barbara Glynn Prodaniuk, Michael Sarich, Camille VandenBerge and Peter VandenBerge. A simultaneous showing of Sticky Business: Art of the Honeybee with Donna Billick, Paula Wenzl Bellacera and others highlights the beauty and complexity of bees, with a conservational message.
