Los Angeles trio Nico Vega is about as mom-friendly as hard chick rock can get. Makes sense, considering the band named themselves (queue the cheek pinching) in honor of their original drummer’s mother. While Nico’s little boy may not be around to bang on the skins anymore, they’re still equally influenced by old ladies; legendary cougar producer Linda Perry pumped out three tracks for their first full-length album, Nico Vega, which was released earlier this year. Before the hot flash mob of middle-aged ladies realize that Perry is only 44 years old, I’ll just end it right here and avoid getting tubes of progesterone cream thrown at me. 1400 Alhambra Boulevard, www.myspace.com/nicovega.
