The weirdest thing happened. The other night we were watching Paul Schrader’s 2002 Bob Crane biopic Auto Focus, and a scene with Col. Klink came onscreen. Damn if he didn’t look familiar, like an old classmate from Lincoln High School in Stockton named Kurt Fuller. And so it was, which offers a clumsy segue into mentioning another old Lincoln pal, metal guitar god Tommy McClendon, who plays in Soul Motor with Darin Wood and erstwhile Tesla members Brian Wheat and Troy Luccketta. Soul Motor will be roasting the Roadhouse, 1556 Bell Avenue in Robla, with the Council at 8 p.m. Friday, July 11; tickets are $8. Your lucky day?
