Wildlife is part of our environment, too. And being green is all about protecting it. You can learn about our feathered friends from the folks at the Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. This Saturday, the refuge will be holding a 2-mile docent-guided hike to teach people about the fall migrant birds that reside in protected wetlands. Boots strongly recommended. The hike is free and takes place Saturday, November 27, from 8 to 11 a.m. Meet the docent at the Elk Grove Gate, on the Elk Grove Boulevard exit, west of Interstate 5.
