There were two mighty rivers and a village between them called Sacramento. The kind Sacramentans wanted a place for their children to play and be reminded of life’s magic. They created a 2.5-acre park with animals, gardens and houses for fairies and folk heroes. They named it Fairytale Town. The townspeople and the city and state governments agreed to care for the park, so the children and their children’s children would always have this treasure.

Since then, the world has gotten busier. People rush from place to place, forgetting about fairies, gardens and magic. The government people are busiest of all. Forever distracted by business and energy issues, they’ve forgotten about art and children’s programs almost entirely. Fairytale Town is in danger of being unable to welcome the children as it always has.

So, the staff of Fairytale Town made a plan! If they invited the city to a party, they thought, the partygoers might bring enough money to make up for what the government no longer provided. To save the park, the staff created Crystal’s Midsummer Night’s Dream & Ice Cream Fantasy.

Everyone is invited to this twilight party with all-you-can-eat Crystal ice cream, plays by Shakespeare on the Road, music by the Travelers Union and all the delights of Fairytale Town. The cost is $15 for adults and $7 for children. Renaissance costumes are encouraged. Arrive at 3901 Land Park Drive between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturday to celebrate the magic in your town.
