Insight Home Brewing Class teaches Sac how to cup some beans

Sacramento coffee is hot—and not just temperature-wise. It’s the de facto, official warm winter drink for hipsters and foodies, plus it’s consumed at all hours by early-morning commuters and late-night caffeine addicts alike. At the time of writing, it’s a stormy and dark afternoon, and a hot cup of joe seems like heaven. But here’s the problem: After buying a good artisanal bean from one of many great local coffee companies, what’s the best way to brew it? Can’t decide! Solution: The free Insight Home Brewing Class teaches people four different ways to brew—none of that Keurig K-Cup machine or Folgers instant coffee nonsense here. It’s a two-hour class, happening at noon on Saturday, December 13, at Insight Coffee Roasters, 1901 Eighth Street. A bonus idea: After class, go out and buy a coffee brewing device or two as a holiday present for your fixie-riding, skinny-jean wearing, artisanal coffee-drinking loved ones. Head to www.insightcoffee.com for more information on the class.
