KSFM 102.5 is the soundtrack for The Original Pizza Joint, which opened last year in Oak Park. To paraphrase 102.5’s slogan, the Joint is our hip-hop and R&B pizzeria. We ordered a slice topped with barbecued chicken and pineapple ($2.25), a house specialty. The thick crust was nicely browned on top, and though the crunch was absent, the crust was fresh and satisfying. Two sauces (pesto and tomato) delivered a garlicky kick, and we were impressed with the quantity of pineapple with chicken. A generous layer of mozzarella completed the ensemble. The combo works, judging by how fast we devoured it, and we enjoyed washing it down with the Shasta Tiki Punch soda ($1).
