You don’t have to be a devoted weekly reader of The Fish Sniffer to appreciate piscine beauty. The fish is a magnificent creature while living, and interesting but rather smelly when not, and thus it’s no surprise that some people appreciate them from a visual rather than a gustatory standpoint. Trout Fishing in America, which either took its name from a book of psychedelic fiction by the late Richard Brautigan or the trippy kid-music group, is a show, curated by D. Oldham, which features the work of at least 15 artists, all of whom claim to have valid fishing licenses. It’s in place at the Solomon Dubnick Gallery, 2131 Northrop Ave., through June 1; gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; for information call 920-4547.
