After her husband died, Kathy T. Hettinga, an art professor at Messiah College in Grantham, Pennsylvania, tried to make sense out of her pain by traveling around the Southwest. She took photographs in cemeteries; she found other images that evoked death, or the faith that people find to help them deal with inevitable mortality. Ironically, Hettinga is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, but her Grave Images, A Faith Visualized, a collection of four series of her digital pictures, will be on display through June 30 at the Gallery W Regional Center for Christian Artists, 9933 Business Park Dr., near Bradshaw Road and Highway 50. Gallery Hours are Saturday 1 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; an opening reception will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, May 19. For information call 456-7650.
